THE 5 ELEMENTS

Based on our personal experiences of living with Parkinson’s, we encourage you to explore our unique self-management framework; the Five Elements. With it you can gain insights into ways in which you can manage your illness and potentially improve your Quality of Life. This framework was developed in collaboration with People with Parkinson’s (PwPs) and reviewed by healthcare professionals. In it we break self-management down into five key areas which you can address.

The Five Elements are built into all of Move4Parkinson’s programs and ensure People with Parkinson’s receive consistent, simple information to enable them to better manage their illness.

Start your journey with Medication Awareness & Medical Support and then look through the other elements above and choose one or more that can help improve your quality of life based on your specific needs. Each of us is unique, so it is important to remember that there is no ‘one size fits all’ solution. We encourage you to try different elements and select the ones that work for you.

In an effort to keep you informed we have provided links to what we believe are the most informative resources in each area. We will continue to update and adapt this information as research evolves and we uncover other sources of support.
