Its a wet Friday in Dublin 17th June 2011, on a cold wintry Friday in January 2004 I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s ,I was devastated .One of the indicators for me that there was something neurologically wrong was my golf .I stood on the 9th tee box in my golf club on the 8th December 2003 and could not remember how to hit the golf ball I was uncoordinated my balance was suspect and I was frightened .
Many bridges have been crossed many setbacks and far too many ( to be named ) incredibly uplifting things have happened.
If someone had told me on that Friday in 2004 that over 7 years later I would still be playing golf and still loosing shots off my handicap I would have said they were mad .
So to day despite the rain I am heading out to play in the second day of our Lady Captain’s prize and for all golfer’s I had 38 points last Tuesday not bad !!So I am up there in contention.!!!!
So how did I get to here I researched ,I tried things .I exercised ,meditated ,yoga ,cleaned up my diet and lots more .
They say courage is fear that has said its prayers ,and the opposite to hope is despair, so I will keep meditating and taking the hope road in life.
Whatever happens to day I am a winner in the game of life
