Time to plan

Time to plan

I have taken a step back over the last few weeks after the half marathon, to see what I have to put in place to get me to peak health and performance for the marathon in Dublin in October .So the plan has being   unfolding over the last few weeks .Some of the key lifestyle changes for me have had to be around diet and  exercise and I have made a great deal of changes , however their is still room for more. Its tough with Parkinson’s fitting in your meals in between doses of medication and everyone reacts differently to the various medications .
Jason has been really nagging (only joking) seriously encouraging me to clean up my diet even more ,so I have started, I need to take in low GL foods that stop me getting the sugar cravings and give me more energy .
Diet plays a huge part in the maintenance of my Parkinson’s symptoms and I find meat and fish protein clash with my medication if I take them before a meal .My experience is that eating large meals affects the optimum efficiency of my medication
I have so many reasons for pursuing a healthier eating plan so watch this space .To support my self around this eating plan I am getting together with some friends to do a vision board which will set out my goals for the marathon training and completing the marathon .My ultimate goal is to complete the marathon feeling like l could do it again!!
Just a reminder to anyone reading this blog take advice from the relevant health care professionals before you make any changes.
So watch this space more news about the fundraising plans for the marathon will be coming up shortly !!!
