Today, 11th April is World Parkinson’s Day. This is the day when James Parkinson, the English doctor who first wrote about Parkinson’s was born in 1755. And so in honour of the work he did, we acknowledge today as World Parkinson’s Day. The reason this day is acknowledged by the Parkinson’s Community worldwide is to create awareness of this disease. Unfortunately, there are still a lot of people out there that don’t know a lot about Parkinson’s. So, please help us raise awareness by asking someone today “Did you know that today is World Parkinson’s Day?”. Then, please suggest that they visit our website at www.move4parkinsons.com for more information under our “Living with Parkinson’s” page. Thank you for your help.
